Continuing on my series of Fantasy Faces.. Some of these are actual portraits of people (order your personalised portrait), others are just random faces emerging.. capturing a beauty, a feeling, an atmosphere.. This serene girl is for Johanna, she ordered a painting last week and now I’m almost done. I hope she will like it. I have changed paper from a more structured 300g watercolour paper to this satin smooth 300g version instead. I like this much better, and will stick to this brand and finish in the future for these particular pieces. Yay! Today I got 15 copies of the children’s book I illustrated for Swedish writer Martin Widmark already a couple of years ago. But since it is a project including music and voice-over (Georg Ridel and Louise Hoffsten) it has taken a long time to finally reach the printer. It will be on the book shelfs in a book store near you in a week or so..

I really enjoy working with these and have more ideas to pursue. I am planning to also combine the watercolour and ink with pencil and collage.. so stay tuned for more axamples of that in the future..

Today finishing this piece. A symbolic Guardian Guide portrait for Edgar. Guardian Guide Portraits are mixed media paintings depicting you (or a friend/familymember) juxtaposed or merged with one or more animals, symbolically representing parts of your psyche and personality. Edgar also wanted to be portraied with his beautiful dogs Kitchi and Hilton.  Now I’m hoping that he will like it..

This is lyrics from a song by the Swedish artist Laleh..it was played at a beautiful but very sad funeral I attended last week.
It gripped me inexorably and touched me to the very core of my being. Not only because it was heart breaking in the context of loosing a friend whom I associated with spring and in addition hearing the lyrics as if it was his words, but also because I feel this is important to me, to everyone.. to be aware of life.. and to cherish it.. really cherish it in every moment of renewal..which is every ‘now’.
